Local Cremation Facility
As trained funeral professionals, we understand the overwhelming sorrow that results from the death of a loved one, and that includes four-legged companions for many families. That's why we built a cremation facility in Huron, exclusive to pets, to offer families individual pet cremations and viewing options to help you say goodbye to your pet in a loving and dignified manner. We built our facility in 2010 and installed one of the industry's leading pet cremation retorts. Now our community can have the confidence that their pets are being cared for by a local family they know and trust. Many other local veterinary clinics and funeral homes offer cremation services, but they do not actually have a pet cremation facility. Instead, they send your furry family member to another county for the actual cremation process, along with multiple other pets being picked up along the way. We understand families prefer more transparency and peace of mind when it comes to their own family members, and so we invested in our community by opening an exclusive pet cremation facility to care for your pets in the same manner we care for you.

Licensed Crematory Operators
Since it is not required by the state of Ohio for a pet crematory operator to hold a license, many pet crematory operators have not taken the time to become licensed. However, Groff Pet Loss Services is operated by a Licensed Crematory Operator. This ensures the highest standards in care, ethics and ability when it comes to your furry family members.
Pet Remembrance Online Obituaries
Groff Pet Loss Services is the area's only pet cremation provider to offer online pet obituaries. Our website offers Pet Remembrances, which are unique and personalized obituaries written by the families of those pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These beautiful and personal tributes will also be shared on our Facebook page, making it convenient for you, family members and friends to offer condolences, share memories and photos, and even designate memorial donations to a favorite charity. Last Goodbye and Viewing Option
Families sometimes do not like the idea of actually seeing their beloved pet being cared for by our staff as the cremation process begins. However, it often brings a great level of comfort to them just by knowing that they have the ability to be present during this time. Even if they choose not to be present, having the option is comforting because they know that our staff is open and transparent with our work. Also knowing their pet is cared for locally by a family who has been serving the community for generations, can bring significant peace of mind during this difficult time.
Multiple Locations for Convenience
We offer multiple convenient locations to pick up your pet following cremation, with extended evening and weekend hours available. We understand that you will want your pet back home with you as quickly as possible, which is why we have partnered with The Remembrance Center in Sandusky to also allow you to pick-up your pet there following cremation. They offer extended hours until 6PM on Mondays and Thursdays, and are open Saturday from 10AM - 2PM. Both of our locations, our Huron facility and The Remembrance Center, offer the area's largest selection of urns, keepsakes and cremation jewelry to help honor and pay tribute to the special life your furry family member lived.
